HYRUM, UTAH: Leona Brown Baxter died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Leona was born Christmas morning December 25, 1913 to James Leishman Brown and Hedda Irene Clawson in Hyrum, Utah.

She married Dewayne LeRoy Baxter November 30, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah and later sealed in the Logan Temple on November 30, 1955. Dewayne preceded her in death on November 3, 1987.

Leona was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and devoted her life to its service.

Leona was proud of her pioneer heritage. She was a member of the DUP and was honored for her spirit and service.

Leona is survived by her 4 children, Robert (Dorothy) of Salt Lake City, Sharon (Henry) Ashton of Murray, Tonnya Baxter of Salt Lake City, Sheila (Rick) Egan of Bountiful. She is a grandmother of 10 and a great grandmother of 12.

A family and friends graveside memorial will be held at 12:00 pm , Saturday , September 3, 2005 at Hyrum Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the care-givers at Beehive Gardens for the kind and loving assistance they provided to our mother. Condolences may be sent to the family at Allen Mortuaries.
