Albert O.J. Gatton III

Mr. Albert O. J. Gatton III, 62, of Waycross died Thursday morning at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born in Anniston, Alabama on January 14, 1956 to the late Albert O.J. Gatton, Sr. (who raised him) and Claudia B. Gatton.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Ballenger and a great great nephew, Christopher Hendricks.

Albert resided in Dade City, Florida before moving to Waycross in 1968. He graduated from Ware County High School and was a retired draftsman. Albert was in numerous bands throughout his life and was a great drummer.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Ritchie Herrin, Albert's nephew, who was his caregiver and best friend.

Albert is survived by two sisters,
Rachel Martin of Waycross,
Faye Ashburn of Dade City, Florida,
one brother, Jim Clark of Florence, Alabama,
an uncle, James Pruitt of Glencoe, Alabama,
an aunt, Ann Coral of Dade City, Florida
, several nieces, nephews, great nephews, one great great niece, one great great nephew, one great great great niece and numerous other relatives.

A Mass of the Resurrection to celebrate the life of Albert J. Gatton III will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 12:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
