He was born February 20, 1886, in Munnsville, a son of the late Clark and Martha Ouderkirk Wheeler. He moved here in 1901 and was married December 31, 1904, to Martha Thayer in Utica. For the last 30 years he had operated the Home Laundry. Mr. Wheeler was a member of South Congregational Church, its Men's Club and Founder Rathbun Lodge, Knights of Pythias.
Besides his widow he leaves a son, Reginald J., of Utica, two grandchildren, Susan Ann and Patricia Jean Wheeler, Utica, three brothers, Earl of Schenectady, Harold of Rome, and Peter Wheeler of Hamilton, a sister, Mrs. George Clifford, Rome, an aunt, Mrs. Gladys Wood, Rome; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Friday. Burial will be in New Forest Cemetery. Utica Daily Press, November 22, 1949
