GREENFIELD– Janice E. (Miller) Stamm-Lewman, age 76, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009, at her home in Greenfield. She was born on September 26, 1932, in Mount Auburn, Indiana, to William E. and Anna Margaret Miller. Janice was a member of the Stringtown Church of the Nazarene. She was married to Charles (Deacon) Stamm until his death in May of 1990. Together, they had owned and operated the Gray Haven Motel in Connersville for many years. On March 31, 2001, she married Richard Lewman who survives.
She is also survived by four children, Bruce (Dilma) Stamm of Straughn, Indiana, Greg (Sherry) Stamm of Greenfield, Mike (Andrea) Stamm of Stuttgart, Germany, and Jenny (Kyle) Stamm Barrett of Connersville; two step-daughters, Katie Lewman of Shirley and Karen Campbell of Greenfield; eleven grandchildren, Josh, Mandy, Leslie, Garret, Bianca, Kyle, Coty, Levi, Olivia, Denver, and Daniel; and two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Zane. Preceding her in death were her brothers, William and Bob Miller; and her parents.
Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Reverend Bill Bean and Pastor Fred Girdwell will be officiating. A graveside committal will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Dale Cemetery in Connersville.
