William Henry Nix Sr., 60, of Greenwood died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in Little Rock. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a painter, a Baptist and a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Nix is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Walter of Greenwood, Arkansas and Jennifer Wilhelm of Van Buren, Arkansas; two sons: William Nix Jr. of Antigo, Wisconsin, and Stephen Nix of Van Buren, Arkansas; a sister: Evelyn Scott of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many good friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Nix was held on Friday, August 28, 2009, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was laid to rest with military honors at Ewing Chapel Cemetery in Stilwell, Okla.
Pallbearers were: Ronnie Walter III, Joshua Nix, William Nix Jr., Stephen Nix, Andy Scott and Ronnie Walter IV.
