From the book, The Fighting Men of Oklahoma: PFC Brittain was inducted into the service is Osage Co. on Feb. 5, 1942. He participated in the battles of Attu, Kwajalein, Leyte, Okinawa and Korea with the 48th FA. The first to invade the Japanese Empire. They endured severe physical strain for 3 days and 2 nights without food or water before help came. PFC Brittain was KIA on April 8, 1945.
