ISAAC MORRELL ALTOM WAS THE SON OF WILLIAM EDWARD AND BESSIE ETHEL KIRKPATRICK ALTOM.

HE WAS MARRIED TWICE:

(1) RUBY MAE PRICE 1 APR 1948 IN HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE.

(2) MARY LENA COOPER 4 JUL 1970 IN HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE.

ROGERSVILLE - Isaac M. "Jack" Altom, of 125 Jones Street, passed away Saturday (February 22, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Altom was a life long resident of Hawkins County and was of the Methodist faith. He attended Amis Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of American Enka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Bessie Kirkpatrick Altom, five brothers, Rod Altom, Warren Altom, William E. "Bill" Altom, Jr., Frank Altom and Malcolm Altom.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lena Cooper Altom, Rogersville; three daughters & son-in-law, Bridgette & Les Shehorn, Banning, California; Brenda Altom, Knoxville; and Benita Ferrell, Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Selene Turner, Michael and Gary Hatfield, Shawn and Terry Ferrell; seven great grandchildren, Heather and Rachel Huckwell, Ali Lawson, Alex, Amanda and Anna Hatfield, Will Ferrell; one brother, James D. Altom, Greenville; one sister, Evelyn Carpenter, Rogersville; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Services will be conducted Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Cutshaw officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hatfield, Shawn Ferrell, Terry Ferrell, Andy Kenner, Fain Cooper and Robert Cooper.

Honorary bearers will be Roy Cooper, Kenneth Henderson, Donald Henderson, Kenneth Wood, Boot Armstrong, and Gary Hatfield.

The family request those desiring may make memorial contributions to Amis Chapel United Methodist Church C/O Evelyn Henderson, 205 Amis Chapel Road, Surgoinsville, TN 37873.
