Funeral services were at the First Congregational Church in New Hampton Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Julia Grove. 73. who died at her home in New Hampton the previous Thursday. Rev. William Griffce, interim pastor of the Congregational Church in Ionia, officiated and burial was in the New Hampton Cemetery. Music was by Mrs. Kenneth Hibbs and Mrs. Delbert Bergman who were accompanied by Mrs. Everett Thorbrogger, organist. Mrs. Archie Schilling and Mrs. Louis Fliger, Jr., were the flower committee and casket bearers were Elmer Hassman. Archie Schilling and Ed Lahr, all of New Hampton, Cecil Laydon and Bill Buckel. Nashua and Cale Ransom of Ionia.

Mrs. Grove is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hanley, Grants Pass, Ore.; six sons, Laurence and Glenn, New Hampton; Ray of Monona; Charles and Grant of Ionia and Warren of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Shuman of Raswell, N. M.: and Mrs. Elda McCollum of Waterloo; two brothers, Louis Schoenfeld of Ionia and Edward Schoenfeld, Whitter, Calif.; also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

MRS. JULIA GROVE FUNERAL HELD MONDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Abner (Julia) Grove, 78, of New Hampton, were conducted Monday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church.

The Rev. William Griffee, interim pastor of the Ionia First Congregational Church, officiated. Mrs. Kenneth Hibbs, and Mrs. Delbert Bergman sang "In the Garden" with Mrs. Everett Thorbrogger at the organ. Mrs. Archie Schilling and Mrs. Louis Fliger, Jr., had charge of floral offerings.

Interment was in the New Hampton Cemetery with Cale Ransom of Ionia, Cecil Lavdon and Bill Buckel of Nashua and Archie Schilling, Elmer Hassman, and Ed Lahr of New Hampton as pall bearers.

In charge of the arrangements was the Perry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Grove died at her home at 410 East Prospect at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, October 31.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hanely of Grants Pass, Ore.; six sons, Laurence and Glenn, New Hampton, Roy of Monona, Charles and Grant, Ionia, and Warren of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Schuman of Roswell, New Mexico and Mrs. Elda McCollum of Waterloo; two brothers, Louis Schoenfeld, Ionia and Edward Schoenfeld of Whittier, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1946; a son, Lynn, and a brother, Frederick Schoenfeld.
