Edna K. Hammond Carey, 97, of Decatur, a former receptionist for Dr. Arthur Girod, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at Woodcrest of Decatur. The Allen County native was also a homemaker and member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, John Hammond of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Dorothy Schnepf of Decatur; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Hammond and James J. Carey, a son, Richard Hammond, and a daughter, Ruth Christen.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, with calling from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery. Memorials are to the church or donor's choice. Information provided by Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.
