Visition in the Brenny-Karlinski Funeral Home in Royalton will begin at 3 pm today, where a Parish Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 pm.
Mr. Smieja was born July 28, 1897 in Independence, Wis., son of Frank and Veronica Smieja. He moved to the Royalton area, with his parents in 1917. He farmed in the Royalton area until he moved to 216 S. W. 3rd St., Little Falls. He later became a resident of St. Otto's Home.
Survivors include his sons, John of Burtrum, Bernard of Hackensack and Theodore of Belle Prairie; daughters, Mrs. David(Valeria)Manders of Forest Lake, Mrs. John (Irene) Brown of Arvada, Colo., and Veronica Smieja of St. Paul; 17 grandchildren; brother Phillip, of Royalton; and sisters, Mrs. Roman(Katie)Klish of Bowlus, and Mrs. Ed (Elizabeth) Kloss and Mrs. Sam (Gertrude) Kloss of Royalton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia, on Oct. 20, 1973 and by five brothers and sisters.
