FUNERAL SERVICES HELD THURSDAY IN SHERIDAN FOR MRS. SUSIE DILLEY

SHERIDAN, May 2 - Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Dilley, who died Wednesday morning, April 24 at her home after a short illness, were held on Thursday at the Methodist church, her pastor, Rev. Harvey DeVries, officiating.

Susie Gladys Branson was born Sept. 24, 1876, on her father's donation land claim near Sheridan and spent her entire life in the Sheridan community. She was the daughter of B.R. Branson and Emily Dickey Branson, the eleventh of 13 children. She began her career as a teacher in the Riverside school just west of town. For a number of years she was associated with the store originally owned by the Leonard Brothers and has continued her association with the store throught each successive owner up to the present time.

She was married to Samuel Ernest Dilley at the Methodist parsonage in Sheridan Jan. 24, 1906. Mr. Dilley died Dec. 25, 1935 as the result of an accident on the coast highway.

She is survived by her three children: Mrs. Wood F. Krumbah, of Seattle; Ralph E. Dilley of Seattle; and Mrs. Robert A. McInnis of Albany; and four grandchildren, Kirby Jay Krumbah, Cluff, Linda, and Sandra Dilley. Only one of the 13 Branson children survive her, Mrs. Gertrude Stockton of Sheridan.

She lived for a number of years on Sheridan Road with her sister-in-law, Mrs. May Merritt, but the last few years she had lived in the Dilley residence on Main street.

She was a member of the Methodist church for 40 years, an active member of the Study club, the Garden club and the Women's Society of Christian Service.
