Mrs. Cherry was a daughter of the late John F. and Anzora Lane Barton. She was a member of Garden City Baptist Church. Surviving are: six daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Stafford of Belmont, N.C., Mrs. Brady Guin and Mrs. Boyce Auten of Mount Holly, N.C., Mrs. Bryan Rourk of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Dannie Griffin of North Charleston, and Mrs. Randolph Williams of Orangeburg; two sons, Benton L. Cherry of Rowesville and C. Kenneth Cherry of Dallas, N.C.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Wilhelmina Funchess of Bowman and Mrs. Gussie Hicks of Florence; two half-brothers, Laurie and Furman Barton of Bowman; 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. © The News and Courier, Charleston, SC, 28 Jan 1968
