F.L. “Roy” Bartholomew, 74, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with Pastor Daryl Roach of More Church officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.

Mr. Bartholomew was born June 5, 1940, in Vona, Colo., to Herbert and Norma Bartholomew. He married the love of his life, Nelda Hale, on April 13, 1985.

He proudly served the Navy from 1958 to 1961. He was an avid bowler, working on crafts and loved spending time with his family and many friends. He retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 2009 after being employed there for 16 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Survivors include a son, Lance Bartholomew and spouse George Justison; two daughters, Laura Jones and husband Gary and Tina Gregory and husband Larry; a sister, Deanna Ball; a brother, Marvin Bartholomew; three grandchildren, Angelia Murillo, Kari Bartholomew and Treyton Collins; and three great-grandchildren.
