11 Mar 1885 - Moses A. Baldwin G.A.R. Post #544 was named as a memorial to him because he was a well-loved member of the 119th N.Y. Volunteers.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Dept of NY authorized an S.U.V. camp named Moses A. Baldwin Camp #544. This group is active on Long Island and meets regularly, in Hempstead, NY, in the same building that the Moses A. Baldwin G.A.R. Post #544 met in until their demise.
