Services for Ellen LaVern Kirby Alexander Fowler, 86, of Fruitvale, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday February 15, 2012 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton. Burial will be in Creagleville, Grand Saline, Texas.

Went to sleep in Jesus on February 11, 2012 in Grand Saline, TX., "and the spirit will return to God who gave it" Ecclesiastes 12:7.

Born January 17, 1926 in Jamestown, TX, to James and Annie Kirby.

LaVern lived out most of her life in Van Zandt County, she had been a faithful member of Fruitvale Baptist Church for 59 years. LaVern was guided in life, but the very principals that made her who and what she was. Her strong faith in God of the scriptures, her abiding love for all that would be blessed to be a part of her family. Her genuine care for those around her, be they friends, neighbors or just acquaintances of whom she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and father of her children, William (Bill) Alexander, her husband, O. G. Fowler, brothers, Henry Kirby, J. R. Kirby and Thomas Kirby, sisters, Mary Kirby, Gladsie Pierce, Fannie Shields, Elsie Davis, Annie Kirby and Wanda Reid, stepdaughter, Dovie Fowler, granddaughter-in-law, Veta Lewis, infant grandchildren, Aaron Allen, Sherry Lewis and Angela Lewis.

LaVern is survived by son, Ronny & Donna Alexander, daughters, Francine & Elvis Allen, Sondra (Lavon) & George Deen, Elane Alexander, Wanda & Larry West, and half brothers, Bill & Jerry Alexander, stepsons, Jerry & Stella Fowler, Eugene Fowler, Robin & Sharon Fowler, stepdaughters, Esta Adley, Glenda Williams, Joy Jarrett, Christine Erwin. Grandchildren, Pam & Mike McConnell, Terry & Leslie Allen, Donna Kennitt, Ron Alexander, Sheree & Chad Lovell, Andrea & Jack Jennings, Jerry & Misty Lewis, Jr., Alyssa Deen, Ty Deen, Dawn Hague, Tim & Bryanna Wilson, Matt & Jennifer Wilson, Mandy Reeder, Dwayne West, Susan Alexander, Kristy Alexander and Kim Alexander.
