Of Bellefonte, father of Merle Lyons of Bellwood, died Thursday night at the home of his son-in-law, Homer Ishler, at State College. A cerebral hemorrhage was the cause of death. He had been ill since October. Mr. Lyons was born on July 13, 1867, at Lyonstown, Centre county, a son of Sherman [sic] and Catherine Young Lyons. He was married on Dec. 26, 1889, to Minnie B. Struble, who preceded him in death on March 16, 1926. In addition to Merle Lyons of Bellwood, he is survived by the following children: Miss Grace Williams of Cleveland, O., and Leona Ishler of State College. A brother and sister, Harry Lyons of Bellefonte and Mrs. Mollie Johnsonbaugh of Lyonstown, survive and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Bellefonte Methodist church, the Modern Woodmen of America and the Undine Fire company.
