JOPLIN GLOBE, Joplin MO, 16 June 1937 - CARTHAGE STOCKMAN SUCCUMBS AT HOME. Long illness fatal to William H. Miller -Funeral Services will be held Sunday. Carthage, MO., June 15--William H. Miller, 60 years old, a widely known farmer and stockman, died at 6:30 O'clock tonight at his home on Baker boulevard, just north of Park Cemetery, following a long illness. Mr. Miller was born on July 23, 1876, in Lee County, VA., and was married October 4 1898 in Carthage to Miss Minnie Young, who survives. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, the Carthage District Jersey Breeders Association, and the Madison Township Community Club. He had lived in Carthage and vicinity 42 years and had lived at the home where he died since 1911. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Nellie M. Staples of Quincy, IL; a son, James Roy Miller of Camarillo, CA; a sister, Mrs. Belle Blanton of Dodge City, KS; and two brothers, John E. Miller and James H. Miller, both of Tulsa, OK. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Knoll Service Home, with the Rev. W.G. Clinton of Carthage in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Note: The birth date for William Henry Miller is possibly incorrect. It should be 1874 instead of 1876. His brother, John Emmett Miller was born in 1876.
