Lavilla Woodruff Day was the seventh of fourteen children born to:
Titus Woodruff, b. Apr. 30, 1782 in West Avon (or Farmington), Avon, Hartford, CT. and d. May 30, 1864 in West Avon, Avon, Hartford, CT. &
Lua Alling, b. 11 Jun 1785 in New Haven, New Haven County, CT. and d. Mar. 15 Mar 1873 in Avon, Hartford County, CT.

Lavilla (Woodruff) Day was born in West Avon, CT., April 7, 1813, married there by Rev. Harvey Bushnell, Sept. 22, 1833, to Carlos C. Day. After the death of Mr. Day, Mrs. Day in 1885 came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Julia L. Darling, in Lawrenceville, PA., and made her home there, dying Aug. 26, 1907, in her 95th year. Mrs. Day is buried in the Darling plot in the Lawrenceville cemetery, where a tombstone marks her grave. There is also an inscription on the Day monument in the cemetery at West Avon, CT.

Lavilla (Woodruff) Day was the daughter of Titus and Lua (Alling) Woodruff, of West Avon, CT., and granddaughter of Eldad and Dinah (Woodford) Woodruff, and of
Elisha and Abigail (Pardee) Alling, and
Great-granddaughter of Josiah and Sarah (Woodford) Woodruff, Joseph and Elizabeth (Hart) Woodford, Jonathan and Amy (Beecher) Alling, and Daniel and Lydia (Porter) Pardee, and was descended from

Deacon Stephen Hart, of Hartford and Farmington,
Roger Alling of New Haven, CT.,
Dr. Richard Porter, of Farmington, and
George Pardee, Huguenot, of New Haven, CT.

Lavilla and Carlos were married in 1833.
They had five children:
1) Roger Stanley Day, b. Avon, Ct., April 27, 1838, d. June 9, 1842.
2) Julia Lavilla Day, b. Avon, Ct., Aug. 5, 1844. In 1867, she marr. Dr. Lewis Darling.
3) Carlos Erastus Day, b. Avon, Ct., April 14, 1847, not marr. He was a druggist in Brooklyn, N.Y. (Memorial # 25821913)
4) William Doty Day, b. Avon, Ct., Aug. 19, 1850. He and his brother comprised the firm of Day Brothers, druggists, Ralph Avenue and Broadway, Brooklyn, N.Y.
5) Arland F. Day, b. Nov. 21, 1851 and d. Feb. 1, 1858.

1) Arland Lewis Darling,(His first name, 'Arland' apparently came from Lavilla's younger brother who died at the age of six, and his middle name from 'Lewis', his father)
2) Carlos Parsons Darling, named after her father - Carlos Day and 'Parsons' after her husband Lewis Darling's mother - Lucy Mason (Parsons) Darling.
3) Walter William Darling, b. March 20, 1880 in Lawrenceville, Pa. and baptized July 22, 1883, with Carlos, at St. John's Protestant Episcopal Church in Lawrenceville, Tioga, Pa.
