r James Edward Bennett:Montrose Daily Press, Volume X, Number 144, December 24, 1917JAMES EDWARD BENNETT In the death of James Edward Bennett who passed away Saturday evening. Montrose has lost another of her boys, one who was born and raised up in this city, and a wide circle of friends mourn with the sorrowing family in this great bereavement. James was the youngest child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Bennett, who were early settlers in this city, and he was born here January 17. 1887. Spending most his life in this city, the only exceptions with a few years he has worked in other cities. He was a fine young man of splendid character, and he had scores of friends in this city who had known him since childhood. He was brought up in the Catholic faith and was a devout member of that church. His death occurred at 8:3O Saturday night at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Lyman of this city, and followed a long illness of thirteen months, during which he was a victim of tubercular trouble and complications. Though his condition had been serious for a long time and he had failed rapidly, he was bedfast but two weeks prior to the end. Mr. Bennett to survived by two sisters and a brother. Mrs. William Neugart, Mrs. George Lyman and Daniel Bennett, all residents of this city. And to them is extended the deepest sympathy of a host of local friends. Thomas Bennett of Ely, Nev., an uncle, was also at his bedside when death claimed the young man. The funeral will be held under the direction of Undertakers Hawley & Rymal at St Mary's Catholic church Monday morning at 9:30, the Rev. C. F. O’Farrell officiating. Interment was in the family lot in Cedar cemetery.
