MARION INEZ PARKER SCOTT
Marion Inez Parker Scott was born June 28, 1921, in Copper Hill, Tenn., and passed away Jan. 30, 2008, at home in Davis, Okla.
She was preceded in death by parents, Haskell Smith and Annabelle Beaver; a brother, Haskell Beaver, Jr.; nephew, Skip Sawyers; brother-in-law, Corky Williams, and husbands, John Scott and Lester Parker.
She is survived by a sister, Sallee Williams; daughter, Maggie Brittin and Donald of Davis; a son, Jim Parker and Lysa; grandsons, Jesse and Jamison of Madison, Ala.; granddaughter, Morgan Kendrick, and great-grandsons, Austin and Cameron of Houston, Texas.
Marion was a model, a modeling instructor and worked in fashion retail. She also worked in healthcare administration and accounting. Prior to moving to Davis in 1996, she lived in Winslow, Ariz., for 30 years where she was active in a number of civic activities and clubs. She was an accomplished artist in many media and was especially passionate about decorative painting. This passion led her to help found a local chapter of a national painting organization in Winslow.
Marion was a member of First United Methodist Church of Davis, United Methodist Women, a long-time member of the Artists of the Arbuckles and Tuesday Study Club. Marion loved flowers, bright colors and big hats. Her grace and sense of humor endeared her to all she met. She will be missed by her friends, her neighbors and her family.
Graveside services were Feb. 1, 2008, at Green Hill Cemetery. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
