Services for H.J. "Haynes" Hambleton were held at the family home. He was a plumbing and electrical contractor for Haskle and a former city engineer and water superintendent. He died in the Haskell hospital. Mr. Hambleton came to Texas as a young man and made his home in Weatherford before moving to Haskell in 1907. He married Miss Nellie V. MIller of Haskell. Mr. Hambleton helped build Haskell's first electric plant, the Haskell Light & Ice Company and was connected with the concern for several years. Later, he became superintendent and manager of the municipal water department for a number of years. He helped to organize and was an active member of the Haskell Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years. He had been a member of the Methodist Church since his young manhood and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survived by his wife; three daughters - Mrs. Charles B. Potts, Mrs. Carl Arbuckle, Mrs. C.E. Wood; one son - H.J. Hambleton, Jr., three brothers - Joe, Walter, and Clyde Hambleton; four sisters - Mrs. Lige Smith,, Mrs. Moten Vaughn, Mrs. Alpha Fleming, Mrs. Doc Antong; five grandchildren.
