Charles B. Wheeler Died Here Sunday
Charles Bennett Wheeler, an old resident of the Superior community, died at Brodstone Memorial Hospital Sunday, May 12, after a tong illness. He was 86.
Mr. Wheeler was born on a farm near Indianola, Iowa, March 21, 1877. He maintained keen interest in school and civic affairs, and for many years was a member of the First Baptist Church of Superior. He was a painter by trade. The family moved to Superior in 1912.
On Nov. 25, 1903, he was united in marriage to Ida Mae Amlong. To this union three children were born, one daughter, Beulah, and twin sons, Floyd and Lloyd Robert. Mrs. Wheeler died in 1917. Their son, Lloyd Robert, died in Infancy. Mr. Wheeler was later married to Mrs. Mildred Smith of Superior.
Surviving an his wife, Mildred; daughter, Beulah Blair of Rogers, Ark, son Floyd of Superior; grandson, Gordon Charles Wheeler, a sister, Mrs. Eva Embrey of Compton, Calif, and five stepchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Megrue Funeral Home Wednesday forenoon with the Rev. Thomas R. Whiddon officiating. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery (sic)
