Effie M. Rairdon Dies Early Sunday
In failing health for two years, Mrs. Effie Mae Rairdon, died at 3:20 o’clock Sunday morning in the Bolanger Nursing Home.
Funeral services have been arranged for 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon and will be in the Flinn and Maquire Funeral Home. Dr. Robert B. Baldridge, pastor of the Grace Methodist church, will be in charge of the services and burial is to take place in Greenlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Rairdon was born on a farm near Franklin, March 31, 1873, the daughter of the late Daniel and Phoebea White Winkler, and was a life-long resident of Johnson county.
Married twice, her first husband was Bert Alexander and a daughter, Eva, was born to them. She preceded her mother in death. Her second marriage was to Charles Rairdon, Sr., and they were the parents of four sons. One of the sons, Marion, died 29 years ago.
Mrs. Rairdon was a member of the Grace Methodist church.
Her survivors are three sons, Charles Wesley Rairdon, of Chicago, IL; Edward Rairdon, of Seattle, Wash; and Max Rairdon, of Franklin, with whom Mrs. Rairdon had made her home for 13 years, until she entered the nursing home last August.
Also remaining are 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Yates, of Franklin and Mrs. Jeff Martin, of Indianapolis; and two brothers, Wasson Winkler of Indianapolis and Homer Winkler, of Franklin. Mr. Rairdon died a number of years ago.
