The Roanoke Leader July 1907

NEWSPAPER issue of Wednesday, July 24, 1907

Mr. Emariah J. Hester died last Sunday at his home in Potash community, after a short illness of brain fever. The funeral services were conducted by Elder James Bagwell at Hillabahatchee. The deceased was just in the bloom of life, being 36 years old. He was one of our best citizens and his sad demise is lamented by all. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and lived a christian life. He leaves a wife, six children and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his death. Before dying, he called his family to his bedside and bade them farewell and said he was "going home." We extend our sympathy to all the bereaved ones and urge them to seek comfort in Jesus who can heal all our sorrows.
