EDWARD DARST DIES.

Prominent Resident of Eureka Expires
After Brief Illness.

Eureka, Jan. 25. - (Special.) - This community was shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Edward Darst, which occurred Sunday night, after an illness of a few days' duration.

He was born in this city April 27, 1869, and his entire life has been spent here. On March 5, 1896, he was married to Miss Lucy Major, also a member of one of the old and highly respected families of this city. She, with three sons, Major, Loren and John, survive him.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Darst, and one sister, Mrs.. Will Britt, of Armington, also are left to mourn. It will be an added grief to the parents that they were at their winter home in Florida and unable to be with him in his last hours.

The Darst family is one of the best known and highly esteemed families of the county, and universal regret is felt over the death of Mr. Darst.
