Harrison Lowman was the son of Abram Y. Lowman and his first wife, Elizabeth Kennedy. He served in the Civil War in PA 28th Co. F. He married Rebecca E. Myers and lived in Burnside Twp., Clearfield Co., PA. According to the Burnside Twp. map of 1878, Harrison owned 16 acres of land close to this cemetery.
Harrison's obituary from the Indiana Progress of Wed., 3/26/1901: Mr. Harrison Lowman, a well-known resident of Cherrytree, died at his home on Friday of consumption, aged 62 years, 10 months & 10 days. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and served three years in the 28th Regt. PA Volunteers. His wife and the following children survive him: Edward, of Patchinville; Howard; Mrs. Carrie Stahl & Mrs. Lizzie Allison, of Westover. The deceased was a member of the William Conner Post #40, G.A.R. of Cherry tree and for 40 years has been a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were conducted on Sabbath afternoon by the G.A.R. Post and it is estimated that 700 were in attendance. Interment at East Ridge.
