James S. Turner
James S. Turner, 92, Nekoosa, a Plainfield native, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gasperic Funeral Home in Plainfield, with the Rev. David Leistra officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the services.
Mr. Turner was born July 6, 1915, in Plainfield, a son of the late William and Julia (Sanders) Turner.
He was married to Cora Mae Rozell on Aug. 9, 1941.
He farmed for many years before retiring from the Griffith State Nursery in 1979.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Bill (Pat), Nekoosa; one granddaughter, Ashley Turner; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ella Mae Applebee.
