Melba Boyman
SPRINGFIELD — The graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Melba Jean Boyman of Springfield, who died Aug. 13 of age-related causes. She was 76. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
She was born April 24, 1933, in Ozan, Ark., to Chester and Eula Thornton Brown. She married William Boyman on April 20, 1968, in Tijuana, Mexico. He died April 3, 2001.
She worked as a bookkeeper and business owner, owned and operated Bill's Market with her husband until her retirement in the early 1990s.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Mansfield III of Springfield and Michael Mansfield of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Janet Terral of Springfield; a sister, Sandra Thomas of Shafler, Calif.; a brother, John Wilwi; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Steve Mansfield, died in 1956.
