Mr. Chisum was born November 21, 1909 in Nacogdoches and had lived in Rusk for the past 39 years. He was employed for 31 years at Rusk State Hospital as a therapist technician. A member of Rusk First Methodist Church, he had served as a member of the official board. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Belle Chisum; one son, Olaf Beard of Rusk; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Beard Wheeler of Dallas and Mrs Thelma Faye Beard McHargue of Houston; one brother, Clyde Chisum of Sour Lake; a sister, Mrs. Mollie Shankles of Rusk; and seven grandchildren.
Paulbearers will be Lloyd Graham, Gordon Sword, John B. Maness, M.H. Norton, Carvin King, Allen Bresler, Haskel Dear and Bert Wall.
