Oscar Anderson was born in Kankakee, Illinois on November 10, 1888, the son of Alfred and Emma Anderson. When a young boy he came with his parents to the Evansville and Brandon area. He attended rural schools in Evansville, Minnesota, where he grew to manhood.
On July 24, 1937 he was united in marriage to Olga Aho. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson farmed in Moe Township until 1946 when they moved to Brandon. Mrs. Anderson preceded him in death on September 14, 1974. Mrs. Anderson continued to live in Brandon. The past 4 years he has been a resident of the Crestview Nursing Home in Evansville, Minnesota. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
He passed away at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota on April 2, 1980 at the age of 91 years. Surviving are one son, Francis of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; one daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Dale Johnson) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; also surviving are seven grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: August and Clarence of Brandon, Minnesota, Ellen (Mrs. Carl Fredrickson) of Holmes City, Minnesota.
Funeral services were April 5, 1980 at the Grace Lutheran Church, Brandon, Minnesota with Rev. Fred Gilbert officiating. Interment in the Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Douglas Stigen, Craig Krafthefer, James Anderson, Clifford Fredrickson, Harlan Hokanson, Alfred Bine. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
