She was born September 17, 1916, in Bloomington, IN, the daughter of Johnnie A. and Hazel A, Cruise.
Martha retired from Indiana Central College (Now University of Indianapolis) in 1971.
She was a member of University Heights United Methodist Church, and Southport Lions Club.
Martha was an active volunteer at Franklin United Methodist Community, where she has been a resident since November 18, 1999.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Stenger, Jack (Marilyn) Reid, and JoAnn (LeRoy) Balza; 14 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 23 step great grandchildren; brother, Robert A. (Betty) Cruise.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond A. and Willis A. Cruise; husband, Kelso M. Reid (D.O.D. 4/7/1968), and husband, Raymond R. Anderson (D.O.D 1/18/1996).
Services for Martha will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson Street, Franklin, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue.
Martha will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
