Syble Lenora Sanders, 86, passed away gently August 15, 2009 at Mcalester Regional Hospital after a long courageous fight from a heart attack and dialysis. Born April 28, 1923 at Myers Chapel, OK, she was the fifth child of six to John and Maggie Rodgers Faulkenberry. Syble was a devout Christian, loving wife, mother and granny. Syble attended Atoka High School until she married Thomas Sanders on August 1st, 1940 at Lane, OK. They made their home at Lane for 13 years then moved to Clayton, OK in April of 1953, where they raised their family of eight. Syble worked hard raising a garden, canning, sewing and taking care of her kids. She loved going to worship services at the Church of Christ, singing and having her family and friends around her. Syble is survived by her husband of 69 years Thomas Sanders of Antlers Manor in Antlers, OK; eight children: daughter Pat and Harvey Joslin of Snow, OK; daughter Barbara and Don McKinney of Antlers, OK; son Cecil and Betty Sanders of Clayton,OK; daughter Mary and Gerald Poe of Lovington, NM; daughter Sue Walker of Tecumseh, OK; son Wayne Sanders of Clayton, OK; daughter Darlene and Gerald howze of Stigler, OK; daughter Dian Harris of muskogee, OK. Two sisters Audrey Bradford of Ukiah, CA and Alene Lowe of Atoka, OK. 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and best friend Anna Poe of Clayton, OK. Syble was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jesse, Cleo, and Cecil Faulkenberry; three sons-in-law, Jerry Hairrell, John Walker, and Tim Harris; two grandsons Derrick W. Sanders and Thomas W. Walker; a beloved niece Delores Coben and best friend Louise Dickerson. Syble left a legacy of love and respect for everyone. She was loved very much by her family and friends, and her earthly presence will be greatly missed. Services were held at the Clayton Church of Christ, August 18th at 10:00am, officiated by Mark Towns and Randy Gray. Pallbearers were her grandsons Stuart and Chris Joslin; Jerry, Thomas, and Patrick Hairrell; Patrick and Michael Sanders; Jason Poe; John Walker; Jeremy Howze and Wesley Harris. Burial was at A.L. Stephens Cemetery, Clayton, OK under the direction of Clayton Funeral Home.
