He and his family moved to Alaska in 1959 from California. Lee was originally buried in Northern Lights Memorial Cemetery in Fairbanks, but was exhumed to be reburied in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, when it was created in August 2009, and was buried there with his wife, Joyce, following her death in March 2009.
