Mrs. Claus Sievers, 90, former long-time resident of New Holstein, passed away Saturday evening at the Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac following a lingering illness.
Nee Lena Peters, she was born August 7, 1861, in Waukesha. She attended district schools near New Holstein and was married there on Sept, 22, 1881, to Claus Sievers. The couple operated a farm about one mile northwest of New Holstein until 1904 when they moved to the city.
They celebrated their diamond jubilee on Sept. 22, 1941. Mr. Sievers passed away on Sept, 28, 1943, and Mrs. Sievers lived in New Holstein until 1948 when she moved to Fond du Lac.
Survivors include; two sons, Arthur of Washington, D. C., and Edward of Oklahoma City, Okla; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. C. A Arpke of Salem, Ore.
