Services for Arlene K. Elfert, 94, formerly of Woodstock and Lake Bluff, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38), Geneva. The Rev. Russell L. Carlson will officiate. Born Aug. 7, 1909, in Woodstock, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Hobe, she passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. Interment will be private. Arlene loved gardening and growing vegetables and flowers. She also loved to read. Survivors include her sons, Brian (Linda) Burmeister of Geneva and Roland Burmeister of Warrenville; grandson, David (Kristin) Burmeister; and great-grandchild, Makayla Ruth Burmeister. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Hobe; first husband, Elmer Burmeister; and second husband, Christian Elfert.
