Margaret Lovina Herr, nee McQuiston, daughter of the late Joseph and Nancy McQuiston, was born in Licking county, Ohio, May 5th 1855. Departed this life at Plano, Iowa February 11, 1922.
She was united in marriage to Jacob Herr January 18, 1873, at Dayton, Iowa. To this union were born 12 children, six of whom preceded her to the great beyond. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband Jacob Herr and six sons, John and Benjamin at home, Wm., of Griffinsville, Ia, Grant of Buffalo, N.Y.; Fred, living on the old homestead, north of Plano, and Vern of Centerville, Iowa, twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Emma Glem of Everett, Washington, Martin McQuiston of Colfax, Iowa, John McQuiston of Iowa City, Iowa and Milton McQuiston of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
At an early age she united with the Methodist church at Lisbon, Linn Co., Iowa.
This faith she carried on through life.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, February 14th at 1:30 p.m. at Chariton River church.
A large gathering of friends were present to pay their last tribute of respect to the friend and neighbor to whom all held in the highest regard.
She will be greatly missed in the community but she will be missed most sadly in the home circle.
The sympathy of their many friends here was extended to the sorrowing ones. At the close of the funeral services enterment was made in the Chariton River cemetery.
