HUBERT S. ATKINS FERRISBURGH - Hubert S. Atkins, 74, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

He was born on March 12, 1935, in Ferrisburgh, the son of John and Mildred (Decoursey) Atkins.

He was an avid Red Sox fan and playing WiWi Bowling. He was always happy and cheerful and he could see the best in everything and everyone. He was a true and loyal friend and would help his neighbors, friends, and family.

Hubert is survived by his wife Linda Atkins of Ferrisburgh; a daughter, Lisa Morrison Stockwell of Ferrisburgh; a son, Patrick Morrison of Maine; two grandsons, Christopher and J.T.; a brother, Arland Atkins of Ferrisburgh; special nephew Eldon Atkins; special niece Candie Atkins; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Addison County Home Health & Hospice for their wonderful care.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Addison County Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753. Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes will be in charge of arrangements.
