James Jethro Rigney, 90, Pulaski County farmer, died in his sleep Saturday night at his home in Dublin. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. G.W. Akers, Draper; Mrs. J.H. Williams, Knoxville; Mrs. Allan Nickols, Mt. Airy, NC; Mrs. Opal Reed, Dublin; Mrs. J.H. Farris and Mrs. M.D. Saunders, Pulaski; four sons, Kelly I. Rigney, Radford; Wyseman Rigney, Dublin, Vernon D. Rigney and Basil G. Rigney, Pulaski; 29 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; one brother, Albert Rigney, Newbern; two sisters, Mrs. T.L. Morris, Farmville, OH and Mrs. Tom O'Dell, Eaton, OH. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Stickler's Chapel, conducted by the Rev. P.H. Horner. Burial Dublin Cemetery. The body will remain at Strickler's Funeral Home. Mr. Rigney was born in Floyd County Sept. 12, 1870, son of Isaac and Adeline Weaver Rigney. He married Susan Boothe Aug 2, 1894, who died Sept. 25, 1957. Besides being a farmer Mr. Rigney was a blacksmith and wagon maker and he was adept in woodmaking.
