Lorene Burgin, at the age of 80, passed away at her home in Escalon. Her loving husband, Jesse Burgin, preceded her in death. Her daughters, Judy Harris (Ted) and Gail Forest (Don); grandsons Robert Lackey (Laura) and Matthew Forest (Melissa); her great-grandson Mitchell Lackey; her only remaining sister, Faye Lial (Joe); and many nieces and nephews survive her.
Our Mom and Granny is sorely missed. Her capacity for caring, care giving, and love was boundless. Always a reader, you would often find her early mornings with a cup of coffee, a cigarette and a book. She loved fishing, swimming, and walking. All of her large extended family and friends loved coming to our parent's home for impromptu visits, dinners, and family parties. A hard worker, she took great pride in an immaculate home and yard.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 30 at 10:00 A.M. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon. A luncheon will follow the service, location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95354 or to your favorite charity. Arrangements by Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon with an online guest book at www.deeganfuneralchapels.com
