Mrs. Elizabeth Lay, daughter of William Boggs, and relict of Charles Middleton Lay, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.N. Cox, of Westminster, SC. She was exactly 80 years old and had been a widow since the age of 36. Raised nine children.

Surviving her are her children: William Lay, Enid, Okla., Mrs. N.T. Martin, Greenville, SC, Mrs. J.C. Newton, missionary in Japan; Mrs. W.H. Hester, Spartanburg, SC, Mrs. W.N. Cox, Westminster, SC and Mrs. R.A. Hester, Pickens, SC.
