Plin Garner, son of John and Elizabeth Lee Garner, was born May 3rd, 1859 in Wabash Township, Clark County, Illinois.

In the year 1880 he was married to Sarah Jane Ramsey. To this union was born six children, five of which survive, two daughters, Mrs. Nettie Broadhurst, Monte Vista, Colorado, and Mrs. Lola Renaker, Merom, Indiana, and three sons, Ernie of Marshall, Illinois, Lawrence of West Terre Haute, Indiana, and Leon Garner of Calumet City, Illinois.

His first wife passed away in June of 1921.

He was later married to Hannah Stansberry, who also preceded him in death. Also surviving is one stepdaughter, Mrs. Augusta Holmes of Dennison, Illinois, and one sister, Mrs. Eva Collins, R. R. 1, West Terre Haute; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Garner was a retired carpenter and contractor and spent his entire life in Wabash Township.

He passed away April 3, 1958 at the age of 98 years and 11 months.
