An error in the 1870 census makes it appear that Lucy was the mother of Abraham Willmot (or Wilmot). This error was repeated in the Hitchcock genealogy and in other sources. She was never married to any Wilmot, and Abraham Wilmot was not her son, but was her son-in-law.
Lucy's maiden name was Johnson. Her parents are not yet positively identified, but she may have been a daughter of the Joseph Johnson, Sr. who lived Hamden CT at the time that Lucy married Charles there on Feb 18, 1796.
Charles Tuttle died in the War of 1812, and on Oct 6, 1815 in Hamden CT, widow Lucy Tuttle married 2)Ichabod Hitchcock, Rev. War vet (1756-1820).
Capt. Hitchcock died in Cheshire, New Haven Co CT and Lucy later migrated to Geauga Co OH. She remained there for the rest of her life.
