Mr. Adams was born in Amarillo and had been a resident of Borger since 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator for Tri-State Construction.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Adams, on April 3, 1969.
Survivors include three daughters, Bertha May Egbert of Southerland, Ore., Faye Pich of Hemet, Calif. and Gracie Ross of Borger; one brother, Charlie Adams of Wilmer; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
Casket bearers will be Jimmy Getman, Sr., Jimmy Getman, Jr., Charles Pich, Michael Ross, Kenny Ross and James Stampford.

BORGER - George Edward Adams, 79, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Chapel of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
