Catherine was born in Alsace-Lorraine, the second of five children of Philip and Barbara Beaber. She married Jacob John Vogt on April 17, 1834 in Tonawanda, Erie Co., New York. The couple raised six daughters and one son on their farm in the Town of Niagara where she died.
