Mrs. Susan Rankin, aged 86 years, 1 month and 18 days, widow of the late Arthur Rankin, died suddenly at her home at Rankin, Saturday night at 10 o'clock of heart disease. She had appeared to be in her usual health, but in the evening was taken ill, and expired before medical aid could reach her.
Deceased was a Miss Kelsey before marriage. She was the mother of two children, one a daughter, who died quite young, the other the late Thomas J. Rankin, who died a few years ago.
Her granddaughters, Mrs. Earle Pollett of Danville, and Mesdames W.S. Phillipi and Kenneth Massey of Burnside, attended the funeral which was held Sunday afternoon. Mr. Phillipi and Mr. and Mrs. J.L. McKechnie were also in attendance. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.W. Harrison.
