After the raid on Fort William and Mary on 14-15 December 1774, he stored captured gunpowder in his home in Exeter (Bell, History of Exeter, page 242). He signed the Association Test in Exeter (Batchellor, New Hampshire State Papers, vol. 30, page 54).
