Geneva I. Powers, Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park and visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers chapel for Geneva "Irene" Powers, 72, who died Sunday. The Rev. David Land of the Assembly of God will officiate. Born in Wagoner, Okla., she had been a resident of the Porterville area for 24 years. She was a homemaker and wrote and collected poetry and enjoyed sketching. She attended the First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Powers, in 1978.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Bogle of Porterville and Colleen Riley of Crescent City; a brother Coy Wayne Baker of Manteca and two grandchildren. Contributions may be sent to the First Assembly of God, 105 E. Olive Ave., Porterville, CA, 93257
