MRS. FORDYCE PASSES AWAY
Was Seriously Ill a Week From Bright's Disease - Mother of Mrs. Teeple
FUNERAL FRIDAY
At The Methodist Church - Resided in Adams County All of Her Life

Death proved the victor in the race with Mrs. Simeon Fordyce who had been seriously ill a week from Bright's disease at the C. D. Teeple home, and she passed away this morning at 5:45 o'clock.
Mrs. Fordyce was one of the best known and most highly respected ladies of the city of Decatur and her death is mourned by all.
Mary Ellen Fordyce was born in Adams county, April 2, 1849, the daughter of Jesse and Catherine Brandyberry, and had lived in the county continually since. She was united in marriage to Mr. Fordyce August 31, 1873, and they have lived in or near Decatur since that time. For the past several years they have resided with the son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Teeple, on Fourth street. Mr. Fordyce survives.
Mrs. Teeple is the only daughter and child. Mrs. H. A. Hartman of Marion, Ohio, is a sister and Irvin Brandyberry of this city is a brother. There is one granddaughter, Miss Alta Teeple.
Mrs. Fordyce was a member of the Methodist church, and during all her life could be found at that house of worship when there were services if her health and the weather would permit. Funeral services will be held from that church, leaving the Teeple home at 1:30 and at 2:00 at the church. Rev. Charles Tinkham, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. H. A. Saunders of the Presbyterian church. Interment will be in the Decatur cemetery.
G.A.R. TO ATTEND
Pallbearers will be selected from the membership of the G.A.R. and in respect for Col. and Mrs. Fordyce the G.A.R. will attend the funeral services in a body. All members are asked to report at the hall at one o'clock Friday afternoon.
