The Halsetts have been an unfortunate family... Five years ago a daughter, Hilda, was burned to death. The family was living in the Eighteenth ward at the time, and the children were playing at 'camping out' in the back yard. They had a fire built in a bucket. The bottom of the bucket burned out and the fire dropping from it set fire to the little girl's dress. She was mortally injured before help reached her.
