EUGENE LOUIS AMAGLIANI, SR., 84, passed away on August 13, 2009. Born October 8, 1924 to Guerrino and Mary Amagliani, he was their 5th child. Mr. Amagliani was the owner of Memphis Bicycle Company and Mt. Moriah Bicycle Company. He was inducted into the Schwinn Hall of Fame in 1992, in recognition of the many years of accomplishment, dedication, and service to the Schwinn Bicycle Company. He was a WWII veteran. He was awarded the Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and one Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Louis Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday, August 14 from 5-7 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Eugene was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 58 years. He leaves two sons, Michael Lewis Amagliani and Eugene Louis Amagliani, Jr.; one daughter, Marie Amagliani Murrah; seven grandchildren: Christopher Amagliani, Louis Amagliani, Joseph Amagliani, Ruth Marie Amagliani, Anna Grace Amagliani, Mary Ashley Murrah and Natalie Murrah. He was one of six children, two living brothers, Joseph and Frank Amagliani; two brothers deceased, John and Mike Amagliani, and a sister, Mary, deceased. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Monsignor Paul W. Clunan Endowment Fund at St. Louis School.
